Roger L. Browdy, Principal Partner
Mr. Roger Browdy is a member and principal partner at Browdy and Neimark who has expertise in all areas of intellectual property law, with primary emphases in the chemical and biotechnological areas and in trademark law. Clients often turn to Mr. Browdy when facing particularly vexing problems in the course of patent prosecution because of his specialized skills. He is also skilled and experienced in patent interference law and practice and post-grant Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings. Mr. Browdy is also well known for his thoughtful and thorough validation, infringement and freedom to operate opinions.

Experience
In addition to preparing and prosecuting patent applications, Mr. Browdy has extensive experience in the more complex practice of patent appeals and interferences. In Ex Parte Rubin (5 USPQ2d 1461; PTO BPAI 1987), he achieved a significant victory related to the enablement of claims directed to cancer treatment. Mr. Browdy also represented a major research institution in a prominent three-way interference over recombinant human β-interferons, resulting in the Fiers v. Revel decision of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (25 USPQ2d 1601, (Fed. Cir. 1993)). Mr. Browdy also argued the Federal Circuit appeals in In re Wallach (378 F.3d 1330, 71 USPQ2d 1939 (Fed. Cir. 2004)) and Capon v. Eshhar (418 F.3d 1349, 76 USPQ2d 1078 (Fed. Cir. 2005)) which resulted in important opinions for biotechnology practice and the claiming of novel DNA sequences. In the last few years, Mr. Browdy has handled numerous patent interferences and is recognized as one of a small number of experts in this specialized practice. Mr. Browdy has experience in prosecuting Inter Partes review proceedings. Mr. Browdy also has extensive experience in preparing legal opinions in various aspects of patent and trademark law.
