Aoi Nawashiro, Partner
Ms. Nawashiro handles all aspects of trademark prosecution, including trademark clearance searches and providing availability and registrability opinions, opposition proceedings, and maintaining clients’ trademark portfolios. A native of Japan, she came to the U.S. as a Fulbright scholar to study U.S. and international copyright protection and began her practice in U.S. intellectual property law with an emphasis on trademark and copyright law in 1993 and joined Browdy and Neimark in 2002.

Experience
Ms. Nawashiro began her career has at the National Diet Library as a legislative research analyst, assisting Japanese parliament members in the area of copyright law, education, culture, and art law. She has advised clients about copyright infringement and registration, anti-counterfeiting measures, parallel imports, and domain name use and enforcement and UDRP proceedings. She has assisted clients in drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, employment agreements, and settlement agreements. She has represented clients in Lanham Act unfair competition litigation and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ms. Nawashiro is fluent in both Japanese and English.
